(A) From the original publication of Hacke et al. [60] (52). Non-contrast computed tomographic scans of a 56-year-old man 34 h after onset of severe right-sided hemiparesis. The midline shift was measured with a ruler on the individual images and converted to the true dimensions; the midline shift was 12 mm. The patient had a unilateral fixed, dilated pupil.
